No parent should say to their childs face that they’re the root of the parents emotional distress for living their truth. The parent KNOWS how emotionally manipulative it is to say this. They know their child will carry the guilt of this. They know their child will regret realising their personal truth. Your job as a parent is to love and provide, not silence and command. If you have looked your child in the eye and told them that their truth has burdened you, then you are a terrible parent and don’t deserve a child.
Your child is gay? Maybe Trans? And you tell them that it is ruining your life? You are manipulating and silencing your child. You are not a parent, you are a dictator and a monster.
