Hi I was wondering if you could do a scenario or hcs where Alucard comforts his so after he sees them crying bc they lost someone important to them and they often think about all the what if’s and have dreams about the day they lost that person. I know it’s sad but I really need some comforting Alucard right now. Thank you! Your writings always make me feel better!!

I’m very glad that my writing could give someone a bit of comfort ♡

I’m sorry that this took forever and I hope you like it!

(I also hope that you’ve felt better lately!)

You knelt before the grave in front of you. The rain was light but still it chilled your skin. The sobs had abated long ago but tears still slipped silently down your cheeks. You heard footsteps approaching but did not turn to look, even when they stopped next to you. No stranger would stand so close, so you felt no worry. A rustle of fabric reached your ears and you found yourself suddenly shielded from the raindrops. Finally you lifted your head.

“Alucard,” you beheld your lover’s face, absent of its usual hat or lenses. The overcast atmosphere gave him a stark silhouette, black tresses falling against pale cheeks, skin made practically ghostly in the light. One arm held an umbrella above his own head, while the other held his coat out over you, like a dragon wrapping something in its wing. The usual crimson of his attire was gone, replaced with a somber black.

Was that some strange display of solidarity? You would have smiled under different circumstances.

“They’re gone,” He spoke and another wave of pain washed over your heart, your eyes returning to the headstone before you, but you knew his words held no malice. “..Nothing can change that, Y/N.” It was a plea, his own strange way of begging, beseeching you to let go and come back to him.

You looked up at him, fresh tears running down your face. His expression was solemm -no mockery or contempt in his features. In fact, there was a sadness in his eyes, something that one could only recognize after years spent with him.

“I know,” You tried to force your voice to be steady, but it quivered. “I know..”

He knelt down to you, keeping his jacket pulled over, shielding you both, temporarily, from the world.

“You’ve had your time, you have to keep moving.” His voice was quiet, his words firm. He stated them as if they were simple fact, as if there were no alternative. That was the way of your beloved Count; never giving you the option of giving up. You stared, forlorn at the gravestone, blinking away a few more tears before slowly nodding and rising to your feet, Alucard standing with you.

It didn’t feel right -this didn’t feel like enough time. You attempted to turn away, to take that first step and leave, but it felt as if there were a rope around your heart, tugging you back towards that stone. Your tired eyes read over the name again and again, until your awaiting beau held his arm out to you. For a moment you only looked confused, but quickly you realized what he was offering.

You wavered, stepped closer, and then collapsed into him, sobs wracking your body. His arm was around you in an instant, pulling you tight against him. Just one more cry. Just one last time and you would leave; this had to be it. He pulled his coat around you, nuzzling softly against you as you wept.

He held you until the sobs subsided, and you were left only with sniffles and shaky breaths. It felt like a weight had been lifted off of you, and perhaps it was simply the relief you felt in that moment, but the light seemed to shine a bit brighter through the clouds. Cocooned to his chest, the dwindling rain pattering against the umbrella above you both.. you felt safe. You were secure, grounded once more.

“…I’m ready.”

He pulled back just enough to look at you, reading your face. He brushed the damp hair from your cheek and left a feather-light kiss against your brow, then touched his forehead softly to yours.

“Cab’s waiting,” he murmured, hand slipping around your waist to keep you close. “Let’s get you home.”
