Any headcanons/ect with
Castlevania Drac are going to be set centuries down the line where he’s
actually mourned for Lisa properly. Otherwise I don’t see him being
open to love, and I only do happy endings on this blog! ♡
… going to AA meetings and addict support groups trying to curb his bloodlust and regain self-control. Yet no matter what he does, he always ends up in front of your house, or just trailing you in the commuters crowd, because gods be damned, you smell like all those happy, lazy days of his youth. When things were easier. When things were simpler. Just as it would be simpler to drink you up like sweet summer wine.
But no. Some part, some long forgotten part wants to protect you. You are an addiction for which there is no cure. Your silent shadow will need to learn to manage it, just like any other suffering soul in the support group does.
Alucard tells the child embarrassing stories about their mother, Integra slips them candy on the down-low, they are the worst grandparents and Seras suffers.
BUT, I really really love the idea of old Tegs taking her excited little adopted grandchild cool places with her whenever she gets a break from business.
“When her kiss transforms the Beast, she is furious. “You should have warned me! Here I was smitten by an exceptional being, and all of a sudden, my fiance becomes an ordinary distinguished young man!””

the 1909 play Beauty and the Beast: Fantasy in Two Acts by Fernand Noziere, the very first published version of the story where the Beauty is disappointed when the Beast transforms into a human at the end. (via corseque)
Seeeeeeeeee the thing here is I kind of interpret the virgin thing as being not true; I’m of the belief that ghouls were just the result of the chipped/artificial vampires biting someone, and that artificial vampires just can’t create a real vampire -only Alucard can.
If it were true, though, the choice would be left to his s/o just as it was left to Seras and Integra (in the original at least). Either choice is bittersweet for him; he’d be both saddened by and proud of either decision.
His curiosity is piqued by them being a virgin, he might ask about it, but overall he doesn’t treat them differently, aside from being very careful with them the first time they’re together. He makes it clear that they can stop at any moment they desire, and makes sure that they’re enjoying anything he does before he continues.
He can’t help but tease them a little more, though. It’s wonderful watching them become flustered.
As much as he puts forth that “No fucks given” side, I can completely see him being to utmost gentleman if this occurred.
Seriously:
1) the era he was born and all the eras he’s lived through
2) His actual first encounter with sex was horrifying so I doubt he’d want that for his s/o
3) they say people are different in bedroom than outside it
TBH I feel, a good amount of time, that Alucard puts on that “no fucks given” face because:
1) Everyone deems him as a monster (except Seras and seems Integra at times)
2) Abraham Van Helsing drilled it into his head that he’s nothing (and Lord knows how tortuous that way was)
3) The abuse he dealt with as a child/teen
It’s easier to hide behind that then show any bit of yourself. When watching the OVAs you can see glimpses of this. When Luke calls him a monster he blinks and jerks back, almost hurt, then quickly becomes that monster, because he gets that a lot.
Could he also just be crazy after almost 550 years of life and devouring/killing all those souls? Well, yeah, but I’m trying to look more in-depth here.
Oh wow, I didn’t even think of it that way during that moment with Luke, that makes so much sense!
The scene goes from “Alucard is disappointed by an enemy who actually seemed challenging” to “Alucard toys with some dude until the dude actually hits a nerve”. Oh man, I love that.
-and hey, Hellsing characters always go for the more in-depth characterization, so I think you’re absolutely right. 🙂
